Was Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevells Wedding Vegan

When musician and animal advocate Paul McCartney married American businesswoman Nancy Shevell on October 9, 2011 in London, animal activists wondered if the wedding was vegetarian. Maybe even vegan? Short answer: The wedding was vegetarian, and parts were vegan. The former Beatle is a long-time vegetarian, and has been a celebrity spokesperson for PETA, Viva!, and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. McCartney also co-founded Meat Free Monday with his daughters Stella and Mary McCartney. McCartneys first wife was American photographer Linda Eastman, who passed away in 1998. His marriage to British model/activist Heather Mills ended in a very bitter and public divorce in 2008. Shevell is McCartneys third wife, and Shevells previous marriage to attorney Bruce Blakeman ended in divorce in 2008. The McCartney/Shevell nuptials took place at a historic place, on a historic date. The Marylebone Registry Office is where McCartney married his first wife in 1969, and October 9, 2011 would have been John Lennons 71st birthday. What They Wore Vegans do not wear silk, wool, fur, leather, suede, feathers or anything that comes from an animal. Both Nancy Shevells dress and Paul McCartneys suit were designed by Pauls daughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney. Although she does use wool and silk in her designs, Stella is an outspoken animal advocate, staunchly standing against fur and leather in an industry that cares little about nonhuman lives. Raised an ethical vegetarian by parents Paul and Linda McCartney, Stella says, Ethical thinking is a parcel of the way we were brought up. It first came from diet. When it came to working in fashion, it would have been very hypocritical of me to work with leather and fur. For us, being vegetarian was never about health, but because we didn’t believe in killing animals. It is not known whether Nancy Shevells wedding dress or Paul McCartneys suit were vegan, but because they were designed by Stella McCartney, they could not have contained fur or leather. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shevells shoes were also designed by Stella McCartney, and were vegan. The designer and materials of Sir Pauls shoes are unknown. Shevells dress was inspired by the dress worn by the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, when she married the Duke of Windsor in 1937. What They Ate According to the Daily Mail, the meal at the reception was meat-free and organic, including Dumangin Grande Reserve champagne costing  £26.50 a bottle and a vegan cake made of sugar, soya milk, apple cider vinegar, wheat flower (sic), cocoa powder and vanilla cream paste. Rounding out the menu, which daughter Stella helped choose, were rocket and basil salad, goat cheese polenta, savory tarts, and dumplings and a traditional wedding cake in addition to the vegan cake, according to Hello! magazine. Is Nancy Shevell Vegetarian? According to an unidentified friend quoted in the Daily Mail, Nancy has toned down her super-Republican views and given up her beloved steaks . . . When they travelled around America this summer, they lived on avocado sandwiches and tomato soup. Now Nancy orders veggie food all the time. While some blogs and news outlets have labeled Shevell a vegetarian based on this quote, celebrity-wary animal advocates will wait for more evidence before endowing her with the v label. McCartneys first wife, Linda, went vegetarian along with Paul one day when they were eating lamb chops and saw their own lambs outside their window and made the connection. Linda McCartney Foods continues to sell frozen meatless meals. McCartneys second wife, Heather Mills, has stated that she went vegan when she lost her leg and the wound would not heal. After her divorce from McCartney, Mills opened VBites, a vegan restaurant that she hopes to turn into a chain. Always the Activist McCartney often takes advantage of the attention he draws to raise awareness for causes like animal rights, the environment and land mines, and used his wedding to Shevell as an opportunity to raise funds for charity. The official wedding portraits, shot by his photographer daughter Mary, were released to media in exchange for a  £1,000 donation to Meat Free Monday.

The Involvement Of Computers In Future Jobs Essays - Computer

The Involvement of Computers in Future Jobs Computer consulting is one of the important if not the most important job of our time. Computers are the future whether we like it or not. Some people dislike computers, because of the complications it takes to understand the basics. Computers are not exactly the easiest tools to work with, but they are the most rewarding, and they are the future. Future cars will all be run by computer. You will be able to talk to a car and it will take you to your destination. Telephones are technically computerized. You will soon be able to talk to a person on the telephone as well as look at the person you are talking to on a television set. Also television is computerized. Soon we will have true three dimensional television. We will be able to watch television like we never have watched it before. We will be able to touch the characters, and feel the characters like they were in the room with you. For people who don't know much about computers, you will be lost in the future. You should learn what you can while you still have the chance, because things will develop to quickly for you and you will not be able to cope with new technological events. Computer consulting is a job, I have chosen long before the advances of technology. And now it has paid off. I now have a business of my own, working as a computer consultant. I assist others in learning about computers to be able to operate more efficently in their everyday jobs. Computers will fall into careers and our everyday life more rapidly then you think. Perhaps you would like to be a teacher. You will store all class data, students work, names, grades, records all accessible by computer. Or, how about a doctor. You will use computers to examine and evaluate a patients problem quicker and more efficiently. These are only a few examples. The bottom line is, computers provide worthwhile careers. Having a job that involves computers, in terms of the conditions, is very much similar to any office job. In most of the common jobs, the worker will get to an office in the morning, sit at a desk, in front of a computer, and will do very little manual labor except a lot of typing. For example, the computer consultant we have already mentioned, might do several jobs, a few being: Traveling to clients computers, writing customized programs, repairing computer parts, and teaching/ guiding students in learning. Only the repair aspect of this job, would require actual manual labor. However, computers and computer parts are so well built and shall continue to be even more well built, that repair is only a small fraction of a consultant's daily routines. Overall, conditions for the majority of jobs dealing mainly with computers, shall include very little manual labor, unfavorable conditions, and much knowledge, typing skills, and good communication skills in dealing with people. With computers and the computer industry being the most rapidly changing industry and product in the world, the job outlook for any job dealing with computers or the industry is almost completly unpredictable. However, with the computer industry only being around for a short period of time compared to the other industries of the world, we can still get a somewhat accurate idea of where the industry is heading based on the amount of change already inccured by the technology. Firstly, computers have, over the years, been taking control of more and more of the dealings of human everyday life, and because of efficiency they have proven, it would be likely to assume that one major change of the computer industry from today until tomorrow will be control of more and more of our everyday life. For example, not only will our coffee be made by automatic machines, like Mr. Coffee, but also, we will no longer have to input the grounds, and the water to make the coffee. Computers shall be controlling the temperature of the coffee, to know when to stop it, thus eliminating our having to turn off the machine. Therefore, the outlook on the jobs relating to computers in the future, shall be not only enlarged in field, but also will encompass more aspects of everyday life than anything before in history, except for maybe sleeping. By this, it is meant that computers will not just be something that you choose to know or learn in the future, but

Jada Garrison Essays (180 words) - Discrimination, Behavior, Abuse

Jada Garrison Essays (180 words) - Discrimination, Behavior, Abuse Jada Garrison The Daily Progress Charlottesville, VA 22901 To the Editor, As crime is on the rise in America, hate crimes have made quit an uproar, as you were closely effected by one. In 2016, it was recorded that hate crimes rates were up 20 percent compared to past years. These hate crimes are driving our country right down past paths with separation and hatred. As a student in an American Politics course, I feel hate crimes, also known as "biased crimes", and politics have a very apparent connection. There can be many other explanations for one to carry out a hate crime, but most are based on a personal point of view or opinion on a subject. Many believe that the up-rise in hate crimes can correlate with this past election. When Trump took office, some say that it gave some groups courage to be more publicly active. I feel to resolve some of these outbreaks contact with Governor Terry McAuliffe is needed. It would be most helpful for them to work with peers and find fair grounds. Best, Jada Garrison
